As part of the DA-PCC’s Gatas, Isda, Gulay, at Karne (GIGK) project, members of the Tayabo Agro-Entrepreneur Natures Innovators Movement (TANIM) attend a hands-on training on Urea-Molasses Treated Rice Straw (UMTRS), silage making, and Urea-Molasses Mineral Block (UMMB). These are only some of DA-PCC’s technologies on improving the nutrition of carabaos.
An onsite lecture-demonstration was facilitated by the DA-PCC Production Systems and Nutrition Section team headed by Mary Rose Uy. It was conducted yesterday in Brgy. Tayabo, San Jose City, Nueva Ecija.
Last May, the DA-PCC entrusted 10 carabaos for fattening to TANIM under the GIGK project. Aligned with the DA’s ALPAS Kontra sa COVID initiative, the GIGK project is geared toward the enhancement of food and feed production as well as availability and sustainability of supply.
